About Brookside

Brookside is a gated community in the northwest region of Escondido, California that is within walking distance to a local golf club. Residents also enjoy being close to schools, freeways, recreation, and shopping.

Brookside is made up of 126 spacious homes that were built on large lots. There are two sections of this neighborhood and many amenities are offered. Oakmont offers single story homes with lots that are at least 10,000 square feet. These homes have around 2,550 square feet of living space and the Home Owners Association maintains the security gate. Pine Valley has 135 homes that offer three floor plans and a living space that starts at 2,933 square feet.

This community is served by the Escondido Union School District and the Escondido Union High School District. Students may attend facilities such as Reidy Creek Elementary School, Rincon Middle School, and Escondido High School. If you are interested in private schooling there are several schools in this area like Calvin Christian Elementary, Ascension Lutheran, St. Mary’s School, and Summerhill School. There are many higher learning facilities nearby such as Westminster Seminary California and California Pacific University.

Brookside is minutes away from Jesmond Dene Park which offers 16 acres of sports fields, a concession stand, picnic tables, barbecue areas, and playgrounds. Across N. Broadway is the Reidy Creek Golf Course which offers 18 unique holes, beautiful water features, and challenging bunkers designed by Cal Olson. This venue also hosts weddings and other special events.

Around the area by Interstate 15 and the 78 Freeway are several shopping centers like Westfield North County, Escondido Village Mall Shopping Center, and Escondido Promenade.

Escondido is one of San Diego County’s oldest cities and was incorporated in 1888. Its name means “hidden” in Spanish and is thought to refer to “hidden water” or “hidden treasure.”
